Tjandramulia is a solid player but not a terrifying opponent. She also retired from her AO WC play off match earlier this month so may be carrying an injury.
with itf q reduced to 24 in and 6 to go throuh tara barely got in
needs wins quick or shell only be able to make it in to 15k fields
the reduction in q draw size and # qualifiers may be the biggest impact in the new rules
nothing the itf can do really the atp its top players and the pique cabal are driving this thing
when it turns out a shambles those groups will say wel we gave you a chance to make it good and you botched it so were setting up our own stuff now
if it turns out to be good theyll say it still aint enouh and put the squeze on more to reduce fields and # players again until it does break and theyll blame the itf again
the weels are in motion and one way or another the atp groups want it to be a small select group of players to get all the money and juniors (unpaid natch) to be the only feed in to that system - they could care less about the itf davis cup fed cup or the wta for that matter
next 3 years the moves will be made and tennis wont never be the same biggest changes since atp was formed are coming and not for the good of the fans
What she actually said was she could have got into a WTA250

That moment when you would have got into a 250 wta but not into a 25k qualifying @ITFprocircuit @ITF_Tennis #letthechaosbegin #lovingthenewrulesalready #oneout
Many of the changes are no doubt confusing for watchers, but got to feel for many players, most of whom usually probably look into the intracies of rankings and entry lists less than some of us.
Since Em will now be down to 13 WTA ranking counters just playing in a WTA tour qualifying match would have been an additional counting point for her.
There is plenty of GBR representation in the doubles.
Naomi Broady and Giuliana Olmos (MEX) are top seeds.
EWS is playing with Sofia Shapatava (GEO)
Tara is playing with Camilla Rosatello (ITA) against the 2nd seeds.
Tomorrow's OOP features all the doubles and Maia's single match.
