Some flight indeed and a pricey one too. I see that Jodie is in the MD for Guadeloupe too. I assume therefore that she is come off her crutches and had the protective boot removed... As we could do with our incumbent GB #10 having a rankings boost, I hope indeed Jodie does make it there safely too, as well as Emily and Sofia.
Non Brit related, but last weeks HK winner Lopatetska (no longer Lopatetskaya) beat the Japanese youngster Uchijima 6-2 6-1. The Chinese youngster Xinyu Wang (who made headlines against Sharapova last week) is in the main draw and starts off against a qualifier - would be very interesting if it was against Lopatetska, if the Ukranian can come through her FQR (or Tara of course).
More non Brit bumping, but Lopatetska did beat Tara's conqueror Ma in a final set tie break and does indeed face Wang in the first round. Wouldn't mind seeing that one, but not at 2am.
Yeah, Alex Ward is her coach now I think - saw her training with him the other day on insta and it looked a pretty full whack session to me.
Good to hear all positive Jode news and hope she is ready to give it a good go this year. She performed promisingly in Aus end of last year, so hope she can build on it this year! Only 10 people picked her in this year's prediction rankings, so I and the other 9 are looking forward to her proving the doubters wrong!

Lopatestska is now back in the SF again this week as a qualifier, having taken out Wang, Kobori, the Japanese top seed, in the second round, and Minokoshi, 6th seed, who beat Maia in the first round, in the QF.
Daria Lopatetska, as a 15 yr old WCQ, has won her second Hong Kong W25 in a row 6-4 6-3 in the final. Guess she won't be needing any more ITF/ WC entries into W25s in the future.
