A very different contest to the other two matches I watched. Tons of long baseline rallies, on the rare occasions that either player was near the net, they were just as likely to make a horrible mess of a straightforward drive volley or high volley, as to win the point. I don't know what changed from the first set in which Harriet dominated every Paquet service game, to the 2nd in which she barely won a point on return until the final game in which Chloe needed to find big first serves to get her over the line, then into the 3rd set, once again Harriet managed to break in every service game.
At times Harriet's backhand looked sensational but it did produce too many errors, especially whenever she got nervous trying to close out a set. Not much confidence at the net, or taking opportunities to attack the net. Unlike Naomi and Gabi, Harriet was able to hit her ground-strokes fairly aggressively, finding the court on a regular basis. Plenty of room for improvement (2nd serve looks particularly vulnerable) but still playing reasonably well.

Am i being dim? I cant find the live scores or the draws in the Aus open app...
I was literally going to write the same! Can't find live scores or results in it! I was about to uninstall and try and reinstall!
Ive got the live matches showing on home page of app. Scroll left to see all live matches (one at a time). Touch flashing live button to get current game score. Cannot fund completed matches though. !!

gonna stick with website !
Yes, I deleted the mobile app after failing to find results and even an OOP and am sticking to the website too!
I just watched the final set but I thought she looked great- apart from the wobble when serving for the match. I thought generally she was more consistent than her opponent. Anyway stonking win - well done Hazza!

Xu Shilin next up. Chinese player starting to find some form after not really pushing on from her Youth Olympics success 4 years ago. Had some success in Aus and Chile at the back end of last year. Highest seed Jorovic safely through in the section as well.
Well, that could have been worse but it's not great.
Harriet is a lot higher ranked than Paquet (who it says on the Aussie website link is 152 cm ! (5 ft) - I'm SURE that's not true......). She was major favourite to win, rightly.
