For me, it was strategic errors rather than actual errors that cost her. (Obviously it's actual errors at the end but they were there because she made strategic errors earlier in the point).
However, if you were a trainer, you'd far rather take on Jodie than Alizé.
Certainly much can be improved but Jodie won't be 20 until May. She's for instance nearly 3 years younger than the aforementioned Katie B and Harriet.
Katie B is the best of these relatively though of course has had an interrupted pathway.
Comparison with Harriet I would say would have Jodie on about the same rankings level as Harriet of 3 years ago. Harriet then to an extent plateaued a bit for a couple of years before really pushing on so much in the last year.
So plenty of time for Jodie to mature more and really significantly improve. The good can be very encouraging with I suggest more there than with Harriet at the same age. Needs to have the right people with her though.
Agree - it's just a shame because 'being remotely positive' and not making a fuss over simple errors should not be something that requires a great deal of coaching or support, and would have made this a quick 2 set win.
