But this was his right knee/Side.
So how do we know the left knee is still an issue.?

In his press interview on BBC he said it wasnt an injury, he just ran out of conditioning and couldn't keep the intensity.

No knee injury is good but that lack of conditioning is more worrying for me

Kyle lacking conditioning when he has been playing for a few years and is a seasoned pro...hmmm. Not good.

Difficult to know what to make of that. It seems quite an admission but he has had a knee injury issue to probably hold him back a bit in training.

But also he has a past history of fade aways and cramping, often not really explained.

Yes, I know that.
I meant, for me, there was no sign of it

But what *are* the signs? I was at work so didn't see it but his movement may have been hampered or he was in pain or something?

Kyle is not known for his great movement. He's a tad slow. So, for me, the first two sets, and a half, he was moving amazingly well. Side to side. Forwards backwards. Micro and macro. No sign of injury.

He tweaked his right side when he slid, not his left where the knee injury has been. He got treatment for his right hip and groin. But i think it got in his mind a bit, took him a while to realise he was ok. Worried him. All natural. But by thstbtime the momentum had gone.

Looks like you were correct CD, no injury just lack of fitness

There may be no injury right now but he has spoken about it recently and has mentioned that they were "managing" the situation. If today's comments mean that injury is now in the past, this is a good thing, but it may also be a factor in his lack of conditioning. Clearly if he has managed a knee problem over a few months, this will have impeded his training regime and so the conditioning issue is a knock on effect. Hopefully Kyle can now put that right.

As I have said before, my faith in Kyle is not just based around his ability to hit the little round ball, it is also in the fact that I know he will leave no stone unturned in his efforts to maximise his potential. Dedication from Kyle is never an issue.

I must be missing something. I thought he was moving really well for the first two and a half sets.
The slip seemed to throw him. And play on his mind. But I didn't think his movement looked hugely compromised. But he did look sad.

He tanked his service game at 3-1 in the third. I counted 6 UEs that game to gift it to Fernando. The slip was after this.

Exactly. I agree. That's what I was saying too. He was moving fine but just played an awful game. Then slipped and threw himself off kilter. But not sure he really injured himself.

I see, I misinterpreted your post. I've just seen his post match interview, and he says that he isn't injured, but that he needs to keep his intensity up.

That really is a lame excuse by Kyle .

He doesnt need more conditioning he needs a sports psychologist , hes lost far too many matches from winning positions .

Must say that this did NOT come over in his interview. If he was not injured as he claims why did he not practice to get fit instead of visiting Liverpool etc? He needs to brush up on his pr skills as well as his conditioning!!!

When you say "this" did not come over, are you talking about the injury or the dedication. Not quite sure which you meant there.  I haven't actually seen the interview but without even seeing it, I can absolutely agree that he needs to brush up on his PR skills.  He is certainly not a natural in front of a camera and is a very quiet and reserved character that doesn't like the limelight like some others do.

His dedication. Questions were asked about his injury and his slip to help him explain his ''decline''.

Personally i'm still inclined to believe that his dodgy knee is affecting his conditioning and his performances. If it is, Kyle should do something about it. If it's not, I'd worry even more.

He needs some time away from the tour in my opinion. If you've got a dodgy knee there's no way you can do the proper cardio you need to do to ensure you will be able to last 5 sets.

It can't help his head if he isn't convinced that his conditioning is good enough - if after losing the third he was thinking "I'll never last" it likely became a self-fulfilling prophecy.
