I liked the way she crouched down (for what seemed like ages) after being pegged back to duece when serving for it, yelled, and then responded with 2 aces, ha. Probably her first decent win since coming back. I don't know much about those first 2 Israel W15 opponents in her first event back, but Jodie was like 1/100 and may have even been 1/1000 in one of them (despite the layoff), and Lily is at least capable, as demonstrated by comfortably beating Maia the other week.
There's been a lot of defeats today, and that was our first non guaranteed win, but with my WTA hat on, Emma and Jodie are IMO the most important GB players in this field. Probably too early to gauge with Sonay at this stage, so while we could have had more numbers, at least those with arguably the most potential and higher ceilings have advanced, and (this may not go down well on here), with no disrespect intended to Beth, it'll be a bit more exciting (again IMO) than when she was the last one standing at Woking.

And in the mammoth GB match, Grace won the third-set TB 7-6 (6)
Well done to her, she deserved the third set, she was slightly more lucid, more dynamic, read the game well.....
But Sonay had the match wrapped and with a ribbon on top at 5-3 in the second, was by far the better player, and has stronger tennis. She's only got herself to blame.....
Actually, I thought Grace was the better player in the third set by quite a way. I was most impressed with the way she set up the points and kept the pressure on. But just the two points in it to decide the set.

Absolutely. I agree. Grace thoroughly deserved the third set, as said.
But Sonay threw away the match in the second, for no reason.
Well done to Grace! And a good example of a player who has done virtually no junior ITFs but has done LTA tournaments including winning two grade 1s (lta ones) including national championship in August (and r/up in doubles).
She should get one point but will need three counters before she gets a ranking
Ranking for Eliz though. Already had single point counters from Sharm last November and Cancun last month.
Will take us up to 35 ranked on 30/09. Chloe Compson is due to lose one of her 3 'counters' the following week, 07/10. So as things stand, then back to 34 again.
Chloe manages to gain another counter see Italian thread!!
THere was some decent tennis there from Gabi. And she certainly looked fit and healthy (as far as one can tell).
It was pretty close.
But the other girl deserved it, just, and Gabi will be a tad disappointed and that was certainly winnable.
Maybe with a few more matches under her belt.....
If she looked well, and played some half decent stuff (I didn't get to see it), then that's important, certainly longer term, but it does seem to be a bit Groundhog Day. I remember when she lost to 544 Cascino at Woking in July, and it was generally on here like 'first match since the grass', 'not too concerned' etc. but in the 7 weeks later since that defeat she's lost to someone ranked 600, and again today to a 27 year old perennial 400+ player (all 3 in straight sets), and Gabi has now gone 2-10 since mid-March. At least with Jodie it was an obvious (unfortunate) injury, 3 months out, probably start slowly and hope she can pick up again soon, but with Gabi it's just been illness, injury and retirements throughout the year, and it's effectively been a write off year.
If she does play next week, and can get a few more matches in before the end of the season, as you say, then maybe it will be something to build on for 2020.
In Gabi Taylor's case you wonder how a player who was winning $25k. events in early 2018 and getting a Fed Cup nomination can slump as much. At Nottingham 2018 didn't she run Donna Vekic close. What does JTC stand for and who are the leading coaches working there?
