An easy win for Gabi over her doubles partner today. Another junior player tomorrow, and one with a relatively impressive record. Will be a good test for Gabi again.
The second set is pleasingly one sided, Gabi winning it in just 29 mins. Gabi coming back into a bit of form again, which of course is the purpose of her playing here these two weeks. She will play the 4th or 5th seed in the final, who are fairly evenly locked, and this time she will be favourite to win.
SF: TAYLOR, Gabriella (GBR) [1] 376 def Anastasia TIKHONOVA (RUS) [8] 727 (CH:642) Born 2001 (JCH:18 Jan 19) 7-5 6-0
Gabi's ranking here this week is 376. Next week she falls all the way to 427. If she wins here it will not bring her back into the top 400 yet, but she will be right on the edge.
Interestingly next week Gabi is going to play in a very different tournament... she is currently 6th in the q list for the French W60 indoor hard event.

Unlikely she will play that. The matches will clash and she can withdraw from qualifying.

The matches won't clash paulisi. Qualifying sign in is only 6 pm tomorrow evening, with qualifying starting on Monday. And she can phone sign in. I think it will depend how she's feeling end of tomorrow. Today she has a doubles final too. This would also be her last opportunity to play in Europe this year at W25 level and above... So she could still play, especially if she is feeling a little more positive about her game. For one it will give her an indication of where she is at, and therefore where to aim for at the start of next season too. She would have a top seed in qualifying, and just one win gains her 3 pts. These last two weeks, she's needed 3 wins to get to 4 pts.
Gabi has an opponent now, after it took the 4th seed just over 3 hrs to knock out the 5th seed. Gabi will be favourite, but just needs to maintain her focus and better levels of play this week. Today's match was one of two completely different halves, so she needs more of the latter half..
