Sam will still have another 4 maybe 5 tournaments before year end she could even be top 200 before then depending on how next couple of weeks go. Australian Open qualies to look forward to as well. Well done a great achievement on the back of 6 months of hard work.

Yes, Sam is up to LR 240 now, last year's first cut off for Aus Open qualifiers was 235 and 240 would have got in easily later. One more win would seal it though. After seeing off her 2nd seed doubles partner, Sam now has Robin Anderson, 26, who reached her CH in August this year. Nothing on Sam though whose CH 165 is starting to be in reach.

She wont need any more wins here to seal it. She has another 4 tournaments as back up and no points to defend. Get the tickets bought essentially.

Probably, though her current up to date 243 points will have a fairly moveable feast as a rankings equivaent with many players close together on points. And the final Aussie Open Q cut-off won't necessarily go beyond 240 to 250.

Live ranked 240 now but these points would 'just' be WR 247 in last Monday's rankings. Will go up and down.

So let's be having a few more points ...
