Hmm, was hoping to see Emma give this a go, with her still being on the entry list and high up the Q list. No clues on social media, but perhaps an outside chance of a MDWC given it's her city of birth, but I guess there'll be too many proper home players in consideration for that to happen?
Edit - was typing out that before seeing Indy's post.

Ah, I didn't know Emma was born in Toronto. Interesting, especially if Canadian tennis is on a recruitment drive ...
Yeah, I think she lived there until she was 2 or 3. She references Toronto in her Insta along with London, Bucharest and a city in China, the latter 2 presumably being her father and mothers home towns, so the city is presumably still of some significance to her.
She certainly has her options of countries she could represent, and I remember some WTA staff writer on TF about 18 months saying Tennis Canada were actually interested in her, but I guess the emergence of one of the best players in the world has probably made that potential pursuit less likely, and simultaneously, may have put Emma off a bit if she did have any intentions at all of switching.
It will be interesting if she does get a WC though.
Wow can't believe how tightly Tara ran that in the end. *5-1 up in the MTB she had a DF then lost another 3 pts to go 5-5... got to *7-5, had another DF and was then 7-8* down before her opponent caught the bug and had a DF too and Tara got eh last two pts, whew
