"The LTA can today confirm three more behind closed doors British Tour events at the National Tennis Centre, as the governing body continues to provide new opportunities for professional players to compete for prize money and ranking points.
The Tier 1 events, scheduled for 21-23 August, 28-30 August and 4-6 September, will provide equal prize money for men and women (£6,300 in total per event), with all players from the first round onwards set to receive prize money.
The events will feature 16 men and 16 women in each draw and are open to players aged 16 or over with an ATP/WTA membership or ITF Pro IPIN, as well as an LTA Membership number."

Thats good to hear, after the UK Pro Series has ended as well so even though they are Tier 1 events (judging by the money?) they may get a better entry than the current events.
Charlie Broom defeated Joshua Paris 6-3, 6-2. Not seen Paris play before and don't know anything about him. Did he play college/uni tennis. Paris seemed to have a bit of an altercation with the ref at one point and also a bit of racket throwing, dodgy line calls.
Barnaby Smith vs David Fox has gone to a third set tie break. Havent seen Barney play in a long time...

Henry Patten defeated Barnaby Smith 4-6,7-6, 1-0 in an epic 2.5 hour match. Henry will play Charlie Broom in the final tomorrow. Charlie will have spent today resting as Lloyd Glasspool withdrew due to injury.
Would have liked to see Charlie play Barnaby in the final as they know each other well having both trained at Gosling Tennis Center.
We were in fits over the inane commentary ranging from insights into college tennis 'many of the tennis players study business as they don't know what they want to do after' , 'wanting to see inside Patterns head' to 'Smiths Murrayesque game'

Charlie Broom v Henry Patten in the men's final. 9.30 start and no commentary
poor line call at 5-4 by the chair umpire may have cost Charlie the first set
Poor show from organisers, finals at 0930 and at same time and punting one off to the side court.
If I was these two I'd feel v disappointed.
Agreed we were surprised how early the match was on - would have missed it if a friend hadn't messaged us However don't think Charlie will be too disappointed as wins the second set 6-1 and £2200 in prize money

It'll be mainly due to the doubles later. Lily and Henry are both involved in that. In hindsight, the women's was over pretty quickly, so they could have maybe snuck the men's on after on the same court, but they weren't to know that, and if both ended up going fairly long, then it massively affects that schedule.
You could maybe argue 2 British lads, and a closer match on paper (certainly in terms of odds), could maybe have topped a match involving a women representing Japan who was an overwhelming favourite, and the courts could have been switched, but then there were more men's matches initially scheduled on Centre in the previous days (including the Lloyd pull out), so there could have been more questions if that ratio was extended further here (with them both being the same level of event).
