Thanks TA. This centre court did look a lot different to that main court I was watching last year, but I just didn't think Lexington would have 2 ample tennis complexes, but thanks for clarifying.
Heather playing terribly. Really struggling in the humidity and the fast court is suiting Brady nicely. Obviously a different level to BOTB but Heather not playing anything like as well.
Jo is actually playing some nice stuff, should have broken in the sixth game of the first and when that opportunity went the momentum swung. Should have broken in the fourth game of the second too but is definitely playing better against a very useful opponent.
It feels with Jo it's all kind of there but just needs to click into place. I think she'll probably go out here, but if she can play herself into better form she's still got a shot at going deep at the US Open.
Only issue is that there's hardly any time to play herself into form to "click".
Ugh, that was frustrating. Bouzkova looked absolutely exhausted midway through the second and Jo just failed to put her foot down. Far too many loose balls at silly times (the match point was a classic example, no business putting that forehand long). She had it in her to turn that around and just couldn't string the balls together.
I do like Bouzkova though. Nice player.
Hopefully Jo can play herself into form, but she's still woefully short of matches. Tougher field next week too.

Not sure I can agree with your positive outlook. I thought she looked like a player who basically has played so few matches in the past year. More worrying is her serve which seems to have lost its potency. Her game just seems to break down too easily. She was playing a decent player but frankly made too many unforced errors and doesn't seem able to kill off points the way she used to. 1st round exit at US Open seems the most likely to happen unless she gets lucky with the draw.
Agree on the serve, when she was top 10 her ace count was high and she was getting lots of cheap points. Hasn't been the case for a couple of years now.
Yeah, just Cincy before hand, or rather 'Cincy', and most of those players are going to be top 50 as well, so chances are she'll get another tough draw. I suppose she had 2 first round exits at Toronto and Cincy last year and still made the QF at the US Open, so just those 2 matches in the 7 weeks between her Wimbledon exit and her US Open R1 match, and no hard court wins.

Is the tournament in New York next week or the week after?
Didn't watch the match but saw a bit of the preview with Sam and Annabel. One of them made reference to Jo still having knee trouble which cropped up again at the Best of Brits competition.

I thought it was next week for some reason, but upon checking it is the week after. Makes more sense with the bubble thing.
