Naomi, after her injury issues and then covid's arrival, gets her first tour win of the year.

So that's the first doubles win this year by either Naomi or Em, who have continued to be GB's top 2 ranked doubles players. Of couse it helps them that all counters since March last year still apply. But they will all come off some time so they need new points.

Interesting to consider them maybe playing together, especially if Naomi effectively becomes a doubles specialist.

I know this sounds mean but I would like Naomi to aim for someone a bit better than Emily, if she wants to give doubles a real go (and she should).

I don't think playing with a compatriot has many intrinsic benefits either.

To be fair, I get slightly biased in wanting Em to succeed, so if it's with Naomi's help ...
