Darn, and close as well. Still, decent on the clay.

Pavic and Soares could be in line for a Slam double here...

Final:
(8) Krawietz & Mies beat (7) Pavic & Soares  6-3 7-5

So the Germans retain the RG title.

In the ATP race, Rajeev & Joe remain #1 ahead of the year's other two slam winning pairs.

Jamie & Neal stay 7th, though just outside the current top 8 are the rankings top two followed immediately in race positions 10 to 12 by further strong pairs - Dodig & Polasek, Rojer & Tecau, and Kubot & Melo.

1. Ram & Salisbury 3260
2. Pavic & Soares 2695
3. Krawietz & Mies 2580

7. J Murray & N Skupski 1500

9. Cabal & Farah 1200

This week in russia, vienna in a couple of weeks and paris are all going to be crucial. Going to be a fun few weeks.

With 10 tour titles to play for incl the O2, I really hope our lads manage a couple of titles between them.

Congrats to the Germans who won the title.

And, as has been pointed out on twitter, especially to Kevin K, a real 'good guy':

René Denfeld
@Renestance

"Kevin Krawietz last 18 months:

June 2019: French Open Champion

April/May 2020: Helps out working at supermarket during height of first COVID-19 wave because they needed staff

October 2020: French Open Champion again

Good things happen to good people."
