Liam gets his mojo back just in time in the 2nd set, gets the break back and then ties it up at 5-5*

Darn it. Liam got away with an awful drop shot there. We are in the 2nd set TB with Liam *4-2 at the change of ends.

His RG experience must be standing him in good stead!

Wasn't it just...... Cerundolo went completely the wrong way - luckily.

But a pretty decent tie-break overall from Liam, although I think he was slightly lucky to get away with that second set.

But onwards and upwards.....

All the more credit to Liam as it wasn't previously mentioned that Cerundulo won his first ATP title last week, winning the Challenger at Split, Croatia.

AND he had exams to do in the afternoon, as he's doing a BA Hons in Management, with economics and finance, as part of an agreement between the ATP and the Uni of Palermo.

Well done to him - and to Liam for beating him today

Glad you posted that as I had just tweeted Liam to congratulate him on beating a guy that has just won a challenger.

Tweet duly deleted.

Lindell is the guy that Loffhagen lost to last week, but in quite a tight match, or second set at any rate.
But different surface....And he lost in the QF which was not great

Very close but Liam got the important break right at the last moment and gets the first set 7-5

THere was a bit of argument in that second set but Liam takes it nicely, 6-2

So that's 4 ATP points guaranteed and a place in the MD
