Jonny is on the schedule for tomorrow down on the Italian clay - I imagine Sardinia beats Cologne or St Petersburg this time of year!!

Last 8 here...

Sardinia QFs

[LL] Petrovic vs. Delbonis
[4] Ramos vs. [WC] Cecchinato

[WC] Musetti vs. Hanfmann
Vesely vs. Djere

Wow. Not going to get the crowds out. Even if there was any chance of that anyway!

Well, Musetti must be a huge draw, after all the fanfare about him in the last month, and given it's in Italy.

And presumably Cecchinato has a certain appeal, being Italian too.

I agree it's not great for most people (although I'll watch Musetti like a shot) but I'd have thought the Italians will be reasonably pleased

Interesting that Musetti is still in the event. His doubles partner , Fabio Fognini tested positive for COVID yesterday. Musetti's test probably came back negative then, I suppose?

I guess - I like my last 8's to have some of the seeds left, a couple of local guys (tick) and maybe a decent named crowd puller. 1 seed at this stage is below what I like to see (5 or 6 with a few upsets ideally, 4 at least) and outside the local lads, no name to pull in the crowds (on TV or otherwise).

Really just a Challenger event I guess, which is a shame given it is a one off special and a chance for Sardinia to have a decent event that probably wont be repeated...

Fognini testing positive for COVID and having to pull out must have been a huge blow to the organizers of the event. That would have pulled in some crowd and probably ticked your box of having another seed in the last eight. The LL that replaced him has done well though to get to the quarters.

If Andy wanted matches, shame he didn't go here.
