That was some turnaround in the TB. Jay was a double mini break down at 2-5* and then won 5 points in a row. I think he decided to go more aggressive and with a couple of visits to the net he turned the tables.
2-5 down. Playing rather passively, too far back, soft slices and too rounded forehands (why can't he flatten the ball out like most players can?)
But then landed an ace, came to the net and bluffed his opponent for the passing, a serve and volley winner - and then spooked Gojo into double-faulting on SP
Which was perfectly fair as, yet again, he started playing very conservatively at about 4-4, and Gojo was more proactive.
It's a shame that he doesn't have notes or something at the changeovers to remind himself of a gameplan - he seems to get sucked into the passive game, almost without realising.
Jay very upset about two important calls that he feels have gone against him. One at the end of the second set when he got broken. And one here in the third, where he's also just got broken.
Personally, I think he was right on the first one. Not so sure about the second but he might have been.
However, not helped by the fact he also complained loudly about one in the first set where, IMO, he was clearly wrong.
