If Liam pulls it round he will overtake Jay in rankings

THere was very little in that first set.

A rather bitty start from both of them, three breaks, with Liam just coming off slightly worse. And then even stevens really.

Hopefully the second can tip the other way

Three aces and a "1-2 punch" and we are at 1 set all.

Fantastic backhand winner from Liam on BP down there. Holds for 3-3*

Yes, but it was his forehand just before that set up the short ball in order to be able to do it.

He likes that forehand - the top-spin one down the line, not an aggressive shot, but deep with a bit of kick - it's not really a classic top-spin, got a bit of loft too, but works well for him and he looks confident doing it

But the Italian played very well to hold at 3-3 and he's serving first, definite advantage

ADD: excellent service game from Liam

4-4

Very dubious line call though in Game 7 on that Arnaboldi back hand cross court.  Looked well out to me.

Yes, from the trajectory too, I agree
