I enjoyed that match. I would have liked Thiem to win but credit to Medvedev for hanging in there and fighting to the end. It was refreshing to see two of the younger players contesting the final.
I was amazed at the speed of play from Medvedev. Almost too fast, but an improvement on the interminable ball bouncing from others who shall remain nameless. I guess the absence of a crowd affected the speed as well. No need to wait for the clapping to finish.
They definitely showed that players don't need a towel after every point. Long may that continue!
I do agree however from past experience you have it drummed into you to have a routine after every point win or lose, that's from both coaches and sports phycologist so i can see why they do it
