"bitterly cold ...... only reaching about 6º during the day"

However, yep, if your house is not designed for cold, it's a nightmare.

Keep warm, Bob - thermals are great !

Are you much affected by Storm Filomena, Bob?  Worst snow for 40 years, I gather.  There's a photo on the BBC site of a chap skiing along the Gran Via in Madrid!

Fortunately not too much, thanks. Down on the costas we are protected from the worst of the cold and so no snow here. But it is bitterly cold (by Spanish standards) only reaching about 6º during the day and getting much colder at night.

We have had 2 days of constant rain which has finally relented this morning. But worse still has been the biting wind.

The biggest issue I have is that the houses here are deliberately built NOT to retain the heat because of the hot summers. So my house is like an ice box and no central heating.

The TV news is showing pictures of big waves lashing the beaches at Málaga.  Looks pretty hairy!  Not having any central heating at such times must be a real nuisance.

Nice one Billy. I guess he might be in qualifying tomorrow, for next weeks event, before the final.

Excellent, good win for Billy, doubles title would be nice. Has he ever won a doubles title at itf level?

Yes 4. Last one was last year before COVID stopped everything. He won two with Evan Hoyt about 5 years ago.

I note that young Toby Kodat, US junior ranked 4th in the world, is tearing up the draw, having beaten the 4th and 5th seeds today, both relatively easily.

He won his semi in three sets & faces Hamou in the final.

And beat Hamou by 4 & 2 to take the title.
