Week 6 - Challenger 80 (€44,820) - Biella, Italy (indoor hard)

I take your point, emmsie, and I don't think people should be vilified.

On a similar basis, I hate the sort of accolade of: 'she's cancer free now, she battled really hard'. Which - to me - implies that the other person, who died, DIDN'T battle hard, and it's all their own fault for being a slacker.

However, in this case, I agree with Indy.

We're not talking about individuals and random bad luck.

We're talking about the protocols and measures that a big, rich organisation had in place.

Again, I'm not saying that the LTA fell short, I've no idea, but if Andy and Dan say they did, then I give them a lot of credence.

I hate that too, and another pet peeve is those parents that claim that they love their children just that little bit more because "insert drama here" like the rest of us don't quite love our children as much as them because they haven't had a near death experience or aren't a single parent.

The Protocol in terms Senior players of who should have been at the NTC is clear. You have to be in the Top 25.

So are we saying that Protocol was broken or that other players within the top 25 are unimportant and shouldn't be there?

In terms of the other health protocols the NTC has done a great job over the Summer allowing the British Tour events to go ahead when all other tennis was locked down.

A lot of people probably wouldn't go near a sweaty Gym outside there own home if they didn't want to get Covid, it's surely high risk, Covid Protocols or not.

The colour of the court and ball doesn't show up well but it's great to see Andy back out playing a pro match

It's a long time since I've followed a Challenger, and there are some Rule changes to accommodate Covid19.
So, is it best of 3 full tie-break sets at the moment? Does anyone know?

4700 watching the stream. Don't think I've ever seen that many watching a challenger round 1 on the livesteam.

Good to see, seems like he must have been a light match light to start with but stepped up into it?
