Hardly 'all good' as far as the tournament is concerned - cry - that's a lot of marketing clout and high profile that they've lost

I was very disappointed with Andy when I saw this. I do of course understand the logic of going to Montpellier to prepare, but I feel it would have been fairer if he'd withdrawn on Monday morning before the main draw started. After last week's schedule this would not have been unreasonable. The tournament have clearly tried to do all they can for him by allowing him two days rest after last week and delaying his match as long as possible, so it feels unreasonable to pull out now. Also any potential lucky losers will probably have moved on by now which is likely to frustrate those who might have played. Andy generally has huge respect within the sport, especially for his off sport behaviour so I would be sad if this were to tarnish his reputation.

It won't be this one tournament but Andy is beginning to look a little flakey on the commitments to playing overall.

Also, this Andy is not the same Andy as before. Sadly.

Yes, I love Andy, but he has got some history with last minute decisions which have appeared less than considerate to others and could/should have been made sooner. Not good.

Neal Skupski aluded to similar behaviour from Jamie.

The Jamie decision around Bruno/Neal was explained a little by Jamie on the BBC site. Whether it happened that way is open to our own interpretation. But it seems Jamie turned up at the O2 and the decision for Pavic and Mektic had come through. It was a big surprise, as the Soares and Pavic pair where #1 in the world, but clearly the chemistry wasnt so good and Pavic and Mektic also had an eye on the Olympics.

Jamie saw the move and decided he had to act - Bruno clearly is his "soul mate" and maybe their decision to split a year or more back (driven by Jamie) was a bad call. Clearly, the Jamie and Neal chemistry wasnt there really and Jamie decided to go back to Bruno - it seems to be working out. Neal was probably right to feel hard done by and I think will have sore feelings, as touched upon in the Dan Kiernan podcast.

Very poor show from both the Murrays recently. I read the Jamie Murray BBC article and my immediate thought was thats a bit sleekit from Jamie just dumping Neal like that. He even said he wasnt looking for a new partner. Andy should have pulled out earlier as well. I reckon he maybe saw his draw here and realised he would be in for 2 tough matches and weighed up where he was likely to benefit. He may end up with a kinder draw in an ATP event than a challenger.

On the balance of everything, I'm fine with it. Ideal? No, of course not. But IMHO after everything Andy has done for the game and with where he is right now, I'll give him a free pass on prioritizing himself in the last year(s) of his career.

QF:  Lloyd Glasspool & Harri Heliövaara (FIN) CR 247 (144+103) vs Alejandro Davidovich & Bernabé Zapata (ESP/ESP) CR 998 (230+768)

The Spaniards despatched the second seeds, Erlich & Vasilevski, by 4 & 5...

There is nothing wrong with dumping your partner, but like any relationship, there are ways to do it and ways not to.  I don't know the situation with the other 2 but Neal has definitely alluded to it not being particularly professional. On the other hand ruthlessness is trait seen in a lot of successful people, hence why they are successful.

True, I think theyve all been quite focused and driven dumplings. Brutal, perhaps, in large. Jamie has always spotted a better option and gone for it without any regrets. I think he got bruno wrong the first time, but they remained friends and clearly its working out well again.

Do you mean the Murrays as as a whole with Judy head dumpling?

 Ha, blooming iphone! Dumping!

Although I quite like dumpling as a description. Not sure Junior would call Judy a dumpling though?!
