2 ITF titles in 2021 already! Where has this come from? Does anyone have much of a background on Stuart Parker? What's his potential?
Stuart is someone who has played French League tennis for a few years and focused on money events in France. He has only recently taken to playing the ITF circuit.
I will leave CD to fill in the gaps as he is our resident "Stuart Parker" specialist.
Didn't do juniors, just a lot of French domestic junior stuff. And only played team tennis and money tournaments for several years. And then went pro for real and stepped up to ITFs seriously in 2019
Last year, though, (2020) he made the move down to the SOuth of France (Aix) to work with Endqvist, (he spent the first covid wave in Jersey, for three months, and then managed to 'get out' and travel, although he says it's all been quite a nightmare)
(In fact, I think Stuart must have a mate at ITV coz there's several reports about him there)
He's sponsored by Aberdeen Standard Capital and another sponsor which is helping cover some of his costs. Is aiming for top-300 at the moment. And is really pleased with how it's going.
(note that Scott has found it even more difficult)
Honestly, I've never seen him play live - I watched him for quite a long time, as a Brit, on the domestic circuit in France. And knew he was clearly underranked in ITF terms because of that. And rooted for him, naturally But I don't really know what his strengths and weaknesses are. However, he seems to have a good structure behind him, a very solid tennis base, and has made extremely good progress. Top 300 seems a very reasonable aim in the next year or so.
