L16: (3) Aidan McHugh WR 568 defeated Filip Bergevi (SWE) WR 752 by 4 & 1
Nice to see Aidan get a 'normal' sort of win, that reflects the rankings i.e. not some rather difficult three-setter over a guy ranked 1000 or so (or, indeed, a loss)
I agree. His next opponent could present more of a challenge, though:
QF: (3) Aidan McHugh WR 568 vs (6) Oliver Crawford (USA) WR 604 (CH = 529 in July 2019)
Good stuff but maybe the Swede didn't play that close to his ranking. Hope Aidan can follow it up.
Oh, absolutely. It's hardly a game changer result. Always two sides. And, yes, the Swedish guy has a pretty lousy results sheet. So, given Aidan's form too, I'd say there's a very good chance you're right.
However, you'd still take it
Oliver Crawford, as SC says, is a wholly different challenge, simply because he's on a roll of good results. Made the SFs the last two weeks he played in Tunisia, including beating Stuart Parker. I would expect OC to be the bookies' favourite.
QF: Jonathan Binding & Henry Patten CR 2829 (807+2022) lost to Yuki Bhambri & Saketh Myneni (IND/IND) UNR (0 [but a CH of 138 in March 2014]+209) 4-6 3-6
Surprisingly, only adz1983 picked Stuart in the predictions competition, and then only as reserve.
But Stuart does only have half the points of Brydan who is currently #10

Shouldn't this have been posted on the Monastir thread?
