Exactly my thoughts. The three favourites for the week all in Pool a in my opinion.

Goodness, yes. That's quite a big gap between the two.

Mark Whitehouse and Jack FH etc must be going round with BIG smiles on their faces. And the youngsters, Oscar and Harry, have a real chance.

Good to see Julian Cash back

Well done to Sean Hodkin

A nice two-set victory over Mark Whitehouse.

Glad to see him doing well.

And Gray beats Wendelken reasonably comfortably, in two sets, too
7-6(1) 6-3

Oscar W def Jack FH 6-4 7-6(11)

Jack had several SPs in the TB but his serve and volley tactic, even on second serves, was just way too predictable, and gave Oscar a target, and allowed him to go for it, whereas Oscar often blows himself up on important points, with lots of am-dram, and a rally would probably have paid dividends.

Oscar deserved the win.

Remember seeing Oscar as a junior (literally) rolling around floor of the court because he was losing, whilst his poor opponent stood at the net looking totally bemused. Not seen him play for years, wondered if hed matured? Heard on the grapevine he wasnt currently considering college.....

Yes, I saw Oscar live a couple of times, a few years back, and there were some ridiculous scenes (and also, once, some rather dodgy line calls, tbh). In fact, someone close to me made a comment along the lines of:

"Oscar deserves an Oscar"

I watched him a bit two weeks ago on livestream, and today, and it certainly seems a fair bit better.

But you get the feeling it's bubbling away quite close to the surface

He's got a nice game, though

Billy beats Julian Cash in 2 TB sets. I don't think there was a break of serve in the whole match.

It's that kind of behaviour that made my Son walk away, He primarily played for enjoyment and said having to put up with that wasn't something he wanted to bother with. It just isn;t dealt with properly. We had 1 charming incident where one little scrot smashed a tennis ball at my Sons back as he walked away, I always enjoy seeing yet another loss when his name pops up on here
