Fair play to Jack here, he has atleast made a match of it. I expected him to be off the court in an hour
He already looks like has has done 12 rounds with Mike Tyson, how hot is it?
He's having his blood pressure taken etc. - yeah, he's obviously not feeling great - the temperature is only about 27 degrees there, although reasonably humid.
Unusual for it to be humid in March, it's actually the best time to go to South Florida
Hmm I've looked at temp and humidity in Miami today and while it's not optimum I have to say if that kind of heat affects him like it looks like it did today his career is going nowhere. It's possible that there is an issue with the courts as they are inland somewhat whereas Crandon is right on the water but still a 19 year old should be able to manage in the conditions in S.Fla right now.

Yes, I agree. It sounds like he's maybe got a virus or something; hard to believe that you'd be really suffering in those conditions, after not even one set, if you're A1 fine
But you say below that you didn't see any of the match after 1-5.
I'm not being funny but, as Indy says, it would be interesting to know if anyone actually saw the end of the match to know if, yes, it was a huge choke or Cam suddenly changed gear (or a bit of both, as often)
Meanwhile, Jack is playing decently enough
Let's be honest, the player in question does have a reputation as a choker.
So he's even "choking" here in the early stages, even before we we get near the business end?!
Jack played some ok stuff here, but you feel he does not really know he own body or game, e.g. still growing. He will likely go on to have a steady top 100 career, but at the moment simply do not see enough X factor to be a top 20 prospect. e.g most things are 6 or 7 out of 10. If he can make the serve 8/10 or the forehand 9/10 so it really is a weapon, then he has more potential.

on commentary, Annabel Croft mentioned that he had had Covid after Andy had it so presumably that means mid/late Jan. So that may have had an impact on his physical well being and help explain his lack of any decent form recently. Having said that and if he was not physically at his best why would he have accepted the wildcard.
I did think up until that point, he had been playing well enough and I have not really seen him before. He did have break points, I think at 5-5 which he didnt manage to convert.
Ah, I didn't know about Jack's covid adding to the stop/start nature of his last year or so. With him not turning 20 until December there is still a huge amount of potential there with how much becoming rather clearer over the next couple of years or so. Hopefully he can have a problem free summer and develop his game further.
The cupboard is pretty bare otherwise re British men advancing up the rankings to provide any sort of depth. Rather the reverse as we are getting pretty close to just having 11 in the top 500 which is terrible. And that includes such as Andy, James Ward and Brydan Klein for how much longer ...
