All Ill say is sissy is a word steeped in toxic masculinity and homophobia. But if you want to play it down as merely playground antics then thats up to you. Just thought I would raise the point.

The comment seems to have touched a nerve with you, that's between you and him, however I'm sure there is much worse available to say and bigger problems in the world, upon my last return I found England not to be the polite and welcoming place I remembered from my childhood

Very surprised to hear that England used to be a place of politeness and welcoming, but gives me hope that we can return to that again sometime soon.

Rublev beats Ruud 6-3 7-5

So the final is (4) Tsitsipas WR 5 vs (6) Rublev WR 8

Rublev will now move to a new CH, overtaking the absent Federer for WR 7 and will pass Zverev as well for WR 6 if he wins the title.

Dan will be up to a CH 26.

He'll equal it, Indy:  he first reached WR 26 in February.

Just logged on to see Dan play a truly awful game in the doubles - he's SO cross with himself - and rightly so.

Down a break now in the second.

Having won the first set

The reason why much of the UK is no longer nice is because freedom of speech has been eroded by the lunatic left and cancel culture (often seen on this forum) people are at breaking point. Happy to discuss this in the general section and not this thread.  Reminds of the scene from a few good men, where Jack Nicholson's character says, you cannot handle the truth!

I hope the Greek can beat Rublev. Rublev has no business being in these kind of finals, he is the new David Fererer and his game is one dimensional and boring.  Of the next gen, the Greek has the most interesting and varied game.

And into the doubles final Dan & Neal march:

SF:  Daniel Evans & Neal Skupski CR 102 (82+20) defeated (1) Juan Sebastián Cabal & Robert Farah (COL/COL) CR 5 (3+2) by 7-6(0) 2-6 [10-4]  ban-woohoo.gif

Masters of the tie-break indeed! biggrin

*****

Final:  Daniel Evans & Neal Skupski CR 102 (82+20) vs (2) Nikola Mektic & Mate Pavic (CRO/CRO) CR 5 (4+1)

What a cracker !

There were some real stellar shots in that MTB.

Neal's backhand return and Dan's lob, right at the end, really snuffed out any hope for the other guys.

Im going to completely disagree with you there. Freedom of speech has not been eroded in anyway. Since brexit and the rise of trumpism people feel they are free to say whatever they want whenever they want. Freedom of speech entitles someone to respond to that view also. You are entitled to say things but people are also entitled to respond. People cant handle when someone challenges their questionable views. Also, dont tarnish the left with cancel culture. The right are just as guilty of it.

However, we seem to have arrived at a time when they who shout the loudest win.

at the end of the day, you can never win when arguing with stupidity .
