So the final is (4) Tsitsipas WR 5 vs (6) Rublev WR 8
Rublev will now move to a new CH, overtaking the absent Federer for WR 7 and will pass Zverev as well for WR 6 if he wins the title.
Dan will be up to a CH 26.
I hope the Greek can beat Rublev. Rublev has no business being in these kind of finals, he is the new David Fererer and his game is one dimensional and boring. Of the next gen, the Greek has the most interesting and varied game.
Rublev has every business in being in such finals as long as he wins tennis matches, and as live race #1 he has won more ranking points than anyone this year. Whether folk agree or not with your descriptions it takes all sorts.
Yet to get past the QF of a Slam, that's Rublev's next big test. But credit to him if and when he truly rises to these occasions.

See this is where you do not understand the point. If there was unlimited events, and you could count more than 18 event scores, David Ferrer, would have played 52 ATP 500/250 a year, he'd likely skip slams for them and he would end up ranked number one.
This Rublev is just a vulture of ATP 500 and 250 level. It is a sad state of affairs as in terms of overall level, he is not even at the same level as the likes of Tsonga or Berdych.
I was more talking about general polite/kindness, people saying please and thankyou's both in general and when getting off the bus etc. I went to Morrisons and maybe like 6 different people barged me, I'm a big lad, hard to miss and it's probably easier to find someone else in the shop you might want to shunt before me, general badmanneredness.
All this negative talk about Rublev Vandeburg, I admit the dude doesn't have a lot of variation no, but what he does do he seems to be doing it very well recently, many players have been labelled over the years, let's see if/how he grows as a player

On the bright side - I have been volunteering at a vaccination centre at a racecourse and encountered nothing but politeness and kindness. So many people coming to be jabbed bring presents for us - homemade cakes, biscuits, wine, strawberries. They all say thank you and show huge gratitude. We get presents from local businesses too. I do an easy job checking people in but other volunteers were doing 4 hour stints in the car park earlier in the year for day after day in freezing weather and icy winds.
I didnt see or watch any of it or the scores so very happy to come back to this result.
On form, with two masters events in succession reaching the finals, with a record of , what, 8-1 now as a pair overall, youd be hard pressed to say Dan and Neal arent the top pair in the world right now, or top 3 or 4 at least.
And if you add neals win at Acapulco with Ken into the mix, Neal is surely playing at the level of a top 10 doubles player comfortably. Exciting to see.
