L56:  Daniel Evans WR 33 defeated Dusan Lajovic (SRB) WR 31 by 6-3 6-7(11) 6-2  smile

Converts his fourth match point.

******

L32:  Daniel Evans WR 33 vs Hubert Hurkacz (POL) WR 16 (= CH)

Can't see him winning that one.  no

Good win for Dan. Worth noting though that Hurkacz isnt really at a higher level than Dan, he just had a great run in Miami on a fast court. The clay at Monte Carlo will be slow this week , i reckon this could be anyones match.

Why is it that the bbc sport website is so poor at putting tennis on, and slow? Nothing on yet about Dan's win, in a masters, and nothing about it overnight when he was a set up. Anyone who comes on this board could do a better job, just need a few subscriptions such as Amazon prime etc, and a bit of tennis knowledge. They could easily put more on about lower level tournaments as well...Liam's success recently, or others, and the womens tennis. It's only a few words and pictures online, it's not like filling a whole newspaper up. Compared to football where we get results and reports going way below the top level, and other sports to a lesser degree, it is very poor.

That was such a fun match to watch. I've never seen anyone play such relentless serve and volley on a clay court! He had a game plan (albeit many would question it) and he stuck to his guns and came through. I didn't think Lajovic played badly either. Well done Dan, a confidence-boosting win.

I agree a good match to watch, nice to see variety on clay. It's on the bbc sport website now, pity about the 'Lajovic took a 6-4 lead in the second set' bit, leaving out the vital information, ....in the tie break.

Yes, let's see how Hurkacz deals with a clay maestro

Dan & Neal a set up on Gille & Vliegen but have just suffered the first break of serve in the match, and to love at that.

7-6(5) 2-3*
