Steven offers a glimmer of hope. @GBtennis This looks like a relatively kind draw for Jay (at last) - Bolt is on a 2-year, 9-match losing streak on clay and hasn't won a singles match on clay in Europe since Reggio Emilia Futures back in 2017
Not really a surprise. Jay will be happy to be off the clay I feel. Wasnt in form coming into clay season and it is no way of finding form if you are struggling and moving on to your worst surface

I'm not sure that clay is Jay's worst surface. and I have heard him seem unsure himself in the past. He has mixed it up a fair bit and his hard and clay challenger W/L records are very similar.
Challenger W/L career record coming in here, as per the ATP site:
Hard : 34 / 32 with one title in 2018
Clay : 19 / 17 with one title in 2019
Grass : 2 / 7 ( plus 2 / 6 from ATP tour / Slams )

I think it is just mainly the form issue.
Ha, maybe grass is in fact his worst surface looking at those stats!!!
