RE: Week 18 - ITF M15 - Cairo, Egypt (clay)

QF:  (6) Matheus de Almeida (BRA) WR 568 defeated (1) Paul Jubb WR 457 by 2 & 0  cry

Oh dear!  Still carrying a slight injury, I wonder?  No Brit male survivors anywhere this week!  hmm

Very disappointing and after a good week in early April, rest of month has gone a little poorly for Paul.

Clay now done, at least this side of Atlantic - not sure I still get why he is flying to Florida to play a clay court event next, but he knows his business better than me!

A couple of points gained - no real change in position (GB wise). Doing OK - but everybody seems to be expecting the next Andy.

Not going to happen - Keep on Truckin biggrin

They are?? No doubt folk have been hoping for more than recently but a bit short of Andy! Hope he can find that more again in the next few months.

Noticed a similar thing when Dan Evans lost to Zverev (wr 5). We should be celebrating players doing well instead of looking for bandwaggons.

I was looking back at the comments on Dan and dont think anyone was on a bandwagon - Dan has done great this season and is , what, 15th in the Race, Cam is top 20, so both deserve big plaudits

Paul Jubb has I think had some great weeks and some let downs, relatively. Overall trajectory is good, but I personally would like to see him take advantage of some of these weeks where has been seeded second or top and fallen short. It cant happen every week but one or two more and he would be in the 300's now

worth noting that Paul is 316 in the Race, so decent overall performance, just feel he could have done better consistently more than he has
