I'm assuming I've got the maths right, but there's no guarantee! Report by the Beeb that Andy & Dan will be playing in the singles at Queen's next month & Jamie & Bruno in the doubles, not to mention on Andy's practice matches on clay in Rome with Djoko. Early LTA overview of Queen's.
Id agree - I saw a longer list of Halle entries (10 or so big names including Federer of course), do we know any of the non Brits big names for Queens ( I Cant call it the cinch Championships, I cant - it is a downmarket car mart for Gods sake!!)
I love the fact that Queens which is an elitist Tory snobby club, has went for a tacky sponsor like that. Halle is a far better tournament, Im sure I read somewhere a few of the top players hinted about Queens not being liked by a host of players over the years. Agassis book it might have been. He quite rightly couldnt stand the British high and mighty attitude at Wimbledon and Im sure Queens was worse.
Well we will just have to disagree on that. My experience of attending was probably the most unpleasant of attending tennis events. France and Australia still well ahead in that regard for spectator satisfaction and inclusivity. And dont get me started on the prices

bang on the money and I want to extend that to Wimbledon. Yes all players want to win Wimbledon, because it is Wimbledon. but do they like the tournament, no. Having to wear white, even being punished for little offence like a red headband or different colour undershorts, and having to bow to the royal box. Load of tosh.
The underwear rules have been very controversial recently, especially for women. There's been a lot of talk about it being particularly discriminatory against black and dark skinned women. And I completely agree, after all, it's their bodies and their experience. I also think it should be spoken about openly because a lot of 'female' issues are basically hushed up, with men being squirmish (or disinterested) and women not wanting to be seen to make a fuss.
So if our young black women feel uncomfortable having to wear white underwear (or end up having to shave, as one player said, when she didn't want to), then I think it's disgraceful.

Last I heard black women still bled red so the colour of their skin won't make any difference to their possible embarrassment. I would be very surprised if many female tennis players of any colour had their periods. It's very easy to not have them for most women (although not all) if they don't want them Maybe TMI for some but I have a mirena coil and haven't had a period for 15 years, birth control pills can prevent periods aswell.
