I so agree with all of this. The all white dress code is so archiac it is embarressing. I personally prefer watching so many other tournaments over Wimbledon. For another thing you can't even have proper night matches like at other slams. It serms Wimbledon is always the last to modernize. And as for the state of British tennis in general, why is there such a lack of promising players these days?

Why?
A dress code/ colour code is just that, a code, and a direct reference to the history of Wimbledon that makes Wimbledon special. What makes it archaic, let alone embarrassing? And this stuff about all-white being discriminatory - how does that work for Leeds United players (of any colour and or gender)? Or cricket players?
Granted uniforms or dress codes hark back to a time when they were common, but dressing one's objection to it up as "calling out discrimination" is a smoke screen - anyone playing at Wimbledon can afford to buy an additional outfit or two, but they don't want to. There is no excuse for wearing a red head band instead of a white one, other than imposing ones will on the system, a la Agassi all those years ago.
Underwear, I agree, is petty - and should be sensitively enforced, but they have to be seen to try to keep control if the uniform rule is going to stand; because young and rebellious folk - of both sexes - will wear a rainbow-coloured full body leotard under skimpy white "shorts" and a skimpier white crop top if the rules allowed obviously different colour underwear.
Getting the discussion back on track, the singles entry list, with Andy in on a wild card, Dan just missing out on a seeding, Matteo Berrettini, of all people, the top seed & Cam there, as things stand at the moment.
Sorry I didnt remember we had a thread and posted a few posts on the entry list in the entries section in case anyone wants to move them to this thread for me, please ?
In essence I was commenting it is a weak field but there are several big names not entered here or in Halle who might take a wild card. 4 of the top 5 to be precise

Sorry, Jon. Only complete threads can be moved or merged, not individual posts.
Interesting the lack of top 16 players entered here.
The top players prefer the Halle experience despite how amazing everyone here think Queens private members club is
Do you want the link to the ATP players' favourite 250/500 tournament again?
No thanks, Ill go from what Ive heard verbatim rather than a subjective award. Ive already looked at it.
My original point has generated some interesting chat on the archaic and discriminatory rules on our beloved Queens and Wimbledon season which can only be a good thing. The sooner we are brought into the 21st century the better.
You may not like my comments, but at least they have a meaning behind them to bring a bit of fairness, equality and dignity to the fore.
Stan will likely withdraw so I imagine Dan will be seeded. He's got a chance here...
it would also bring Nick Kyrgios into the field, which would be a bonus, IMO. Kyrgios is one of the star names, probably beyond Stan in terms of media interest and thus star quality (despite not achieving anywhere near what Stan has, obviously)
