Half-Brit Evan Furness won his QR1 match easily.

Congrats too to 17 year-old Luca Van Assche who won 4 & 4 vs Laaksonen

Such a shame,  I really thought Jay had that since he was so strong in the second set and Horansky looked to be tiring.  However, Jay took a rather long bathroom break, between sets, and when he came back it was Horansky who seemed somewhat renewed and Jay just  couldn't match  him.  I would love to see  Jay progress more but sadly he's out of Paris.

Probably came in undercooked. Only played 2 matches(singles) in the last 5 weeks. Should have mixed his schedule up with some challengers.

 Agreed.

He now has next week to prep for the grass and is on grass at Nottingham, week after next. Looking forward to that!

Yes, silly boy, Liam seemingly allowing being miffed at his rankings progress in challengers to adversely effect his lead up schedule.
