Very well done to the youngsters, and not far off indeed havibg more than 4 through.
Now about that unpatriotic fourfold accumulator that I was considering until I talked myself out of it being quite the value that CD thought for a number of them and I initially concurred, 3 of these 4 won.
It was Uchiyama to beat Ryan, Dellien to beat Aidan, Sela to beat Stuart ( all at odds against and my initial 3 picks ) plus, just to push it a bit further at not too strong odds on, Petrovic to beat Felix. On bet365 that was coming in about 30/1 against and I was thinking a few pounds bet, none of your 10p.
Well, I never went for it and I can enjoy the day's exploits without cursing poor Felix! I don't know if CD maybe went for some of the above?
Plus today, I almost slept in for a long postponed doctor's appointment ( at 9.50 am! ) but awoke just in time to then get there by a taxi that happened to be just passing as I got to the end of my road.
Bit I left my phone in the back of said taxi with the ringtone off. After the doctor I recalled that the taxi driver, company unknown, had said that he had been having a really quiet morning and had earlier sat for ages at the Western General Hospital rank ( near my home ) with no joy. On spec I went there, there were quite a number of taxjs with a few drivers out chatting, none my man. But hey, I mentiond it to one, he called to a driver sitting inside his taxi. And that was my man and he quickly found my phone.
So I just awoke in time, then against all odds was not too long missing my phone and then didn't go for that peskie bet in a pretty good day overall for the British guys. Not a bad day, not a bad day at all. Now what are the Scotland odds for tonight?

So pleased I couldn't give a monkey's about the bets - but, yes, I'd gone for bets on all the peskies (on the basis they were generous) apart from Felix (based on last week and the best odds). So I lost on Arthur and Jack, although couldn't be happier, but made out on all the others. Didn't do accumulators thought - too complicated to work out whether it's good value or not
Add: and, yes, I guess you just multiply them but still complicated.....

Excited to see our young guys winning! Still kind of annoyed that JPJ was scheduled on the televised court for the raining monday and instead the only british man televised today and tomorrow was Aidan who sounds like he had a shocker so i wont bother watching on catch up :( They'll just have to keep winning so i can watch them! :)
Can you imagine the noise there would have been (especially by pukka Bank of England standards) as the youngsters won yesterday? Might even have got Stu and Ryan over the line..... (Of course, it might also have put the youngsters off, I'm not sure, and we'll never know - but I'd have LOVED to be there, that's for sure)
Also, a repeat of a post on the college thread, so maybe better to reply there, or wherever, but just wondering:
Does anyone know what the current rules are about prize money and US college players?
Arthur Féry has just QR1 at Wimbledon and is as Stanford, and I was wondering if he can take the money?
(And same goes for Felix and Jack PJ if they want to keep their options open)

Looks like you can make up to $10,000 a year in prize money. Anything after that has to be deemed needed for expenses.
Not sure how up to date the below is but has reference NCAA bylaws around such things. www.itatennis.co/ita-archives/Assets/NCAA%20Annual%20College%20Tennis%20Player%20Expense%20Report%20Form-2017-06-23.pdf
Edit: I read that wrong 10k before your a college player. While a college player expenses only.

Well, Arthur's going to have blown that, given he won £8,500 yesterday.
To be honest, from my reckoning, he won't be much over, if he stops now. But I expect a wimbly doubles wildcard (and there's the rest of the year, and he might win today, too!)
ADD: Just read your amendment, madadman. Actually, I seem to remember that they revised it to be a fixed amount for anyone, as expenses was too difficult to prove/keep track of. So I think (stress, I think) that it's probably your 10k for everyone.

which makes that a hard choice - they should put it into some sort of trust account for him / her to use when they finish college, imo. it is outdated in the modern world to think of a concept of amateurs, i believe

If he's only a little over, then I think there's no real hardship - i.e. you're not going to blow a whole tennis career at Stanford for £2k.
(Also, the Féry family are very well off, seemingly, so on a personal level it's not that troubling)
But Cici had the mega decision to make when she won R1 of the US Open - that was big money (and even then her dad said it wasn't big enough to forgo us college tennis - mind you, he's another in finance and not short of a bob two either)

I think the key here is Stanford, if it was any old University it would be a no brainer but a degree from Stanford is a whole different ball game and I would certainly be encouraging anyone to forego the money. Personally unless he wins Wimbledon then stick with the University.
