Am disgusted that coverage of this match by the Beeb was available only on the web site!  furious  I thought the court looked pretty full at the end.

SF:  (7) Neal Skupski & Desirae Krawczyk (USA) CR 35 (18+17) defeated (17) John Peers & Zhang Shuai (AUS/CHN) CR 72 (24+48) by 3-6 7-6(4) 7-5  smile

*****

Final:  (7) Neal Skupski & Desirae Krawczyk (USA) CR 35 (18+17) vs Joe Salisbury & Harriet Dart CR 226 (11+215)

As I said elsewhere earlier, it was on the red button, and there are four other matches there as well.

Not on my red button, it wasn't.  All I could get was the women's wheelchair doubles final.

Three of the 4 finalists are  British, This is the most players we have had in a doubles final since the ladies doubles final of  1955 which featured 2 British pairs. Neal has also increased to 8 the number of British men to play in a Wimbledon  final in the Open Era. Including Joe and Harriet the score is 8 men and 6 women.Sue Barker has also informed viewers that the last time 3 British players featured in a Wimbledon mixed doubles final was 1934. One that occasion it was  the Japanese /British combination which won.

If you have a freeview box, go backwards from BBC1 (assuming thats your 1st channel and you'll find all the red button coverage in the 900s. If not try iplayer, they are all on there.

There was a lot of congratulations and plaudits for joe and Harriet in their semi win yesterday, not much for neal today. Which seems really unfair although I suspect much of that is driven by Harriet fans!

Regardless , Ive decided Ill support Neal tomorrow to make it a little more even!

If Neal wins the mixed doubles title today he will be the second player born in Liverpool to win a  Wimbledon title in the last 10 years .Jonny Marray also born in Liverpool won the mens doubles in 2012.

Wiki says joe and Harriet are both londoners - Hampstead for Harriet, a generic London for Joe- so that firmly pops me in the camp with Neal as a northerner!

my son lives in what he calls Hampstead but what we all really know is Kilburn, so he will no doubt support joe and Harriet. Mind you he says he will be in a pub in Baker Street with 11 friends by the time they play ready for the England match and probably doesnt really care!

I'm in Neal's camp with living so nearby to where he was born. The Skupski's are a well known Liverpool tennis family even in a football mad area.
