Aidan lost the first set 5-7

But has just got to 6-5* in the second, assuring a TB at least.

On livestream

ADD: and he got his tie-break - and then proceeded to win it easily (thanks in part to 2 DFs and a couple of UEs from the Cypriot, but also a couple of very nice serves from Aidan, just when he needed them - the ace at 5-3 (after he'd been 5-1) was particularly key, as it extinguished all hope for Petros.

And Aidan gets the win

True, the other guy retired, after an MTO, at 1-1 in the third.

But he was playing fine up until 1-0 in the third when he took the MTO. It was the thought of a third set that killed him. And that was thanks to Aidan for forcing a third set out of him.

So Aidan gets the win but probably loses his doubles partner at the same time!

Well that was a nice surprise, couldn't see Aidan's name on the OOP yesterday so assumed he was playing today!! biggrin

In case anyone doesn't remember, Mejia was who Jack Draper beat in a marathon 3 setter in the semis of the Wimbledon juniors in 2018.
