So is it possible for Cam to grab the GB#1 spot this week? I'm not so good as others at keeping track of these things.smile

And if so, how far would he have to get?

I think semis is what it would take , back of a fag packet calculations

OER is forecasting a SF would leave Cam 8 points short so maybe a Final is needed. Either way exciting to be keeping an eye on.

Well that didnt quite work out as planned! Knew that I shouldnt have got involved as I am usually the kiss of death for British players.

Nishikori is an experienced campaigner and well equipped to take advantage of any dip and could continue to do well this week

In better news, Neals win in the QF round takes him to a new career high of 15 and depending on results he could reach 14 this week. Neals problem is that he hasnt got a partnership to get him into the tour finals, unless Dan commits to many more events. They are due to play Toronto and Cinci , presumably Neal and Ken are in the us open together ?

Make that 2 breaks up, 2-5*. I see that there was an injury break at 2-3*

He had a whopping great pad and bandage on the ball of his foot -a blister perhaps - something painful anyway.  Must have affected him.  Shame.

Well done to Neal.& Micheal. At least Sinner is in the singles final ( vs Mackenzie McDonald ) and Korda can celebrate his sister Nelly's Olympic golf triumph.

Luke Bambidge's erstwhile partner Ben McLachlan awaits in the final.

Indeed , great result. Neal tends to do well with anyone but Jamie it seems. Discuss.

All in all, not a good day for tennis Team GB, with the possible exception of the Gdynia qualies!

Jannik Sinner won the singles title, beating Mackenzie McDonald 7-5 in the 3rd.

Sinner will be up 3 places to #10 in the race with Cam dropping one place to #13.
