Weeks 35 & 36 - US Open, Flushing Meadows, New York City (hard)

Just watched Dan's lengthy presser - how much time do players get after a match before having to appear in those? I felt so sorry for him but he did his very best to answer all their questions amicably.

Where can you find the press conference, please, Julia?

After Us open, Dan has week off when it is the Laver Cup. He and Cam both play San Diego before then playing Indian Wells. Then back to this side of the pond.

It's another final set TB.

Alcaraz vs Tsitsipas

And Alcaraz takes it by 7-6(5)!  biggrin

Certainly gives a bit of context to Cam's 1st round defeat.

love how twitchy Dan always is - just his mannerisms, just like on court smile

Hate the idea of a match being a free match, 'no-pressure-just-go-and-swing'

Puts it all down to Ricky Ponting's book .... says he's taken things away from that they he'll use for life in his tennis career

Two things - anyone able to remind me who is coaching Dan currently, he talks about hiring his coach to do well in slams? I wasnt sure if he was on his own now, though ?

Second, he talks about not really being bothered about how other brits do in terms of his own game, but is interested as they have a really strong Davis Cup team. I agree, we have a strong depth. In Innsbruck, we have France and Czech Republic. When the draw was made , I didnt fancy that. Right now Id say wed beat Czech Republic easily . France is always tough and maybe a fifty fifty call, but we can win that group for sure. Wed then play Serbia perhaps in last 8, or Austria at their home, but could beat those even if Djoko is playing.

from singles of Dan, Cam and Andy , and doubles of joe, Neal and also Andy, Dan and Cam able to play with any combo from those 5, we have strong team. Cant see Jamie making the 5 man team, if it is a 5 man team.

JohnH - on the US Open website and also the  App,  go to 'Videos' and scroll though and eventually you will find it.  I will try a direct link here too.

Oh well that link takes you to Videos but not Dans specifically - I think his is probably on the 3rd page

I did watch it on my phone..... I'll check how

I think it must have been in 'latest' and press conferences, but it's not there now but about 6 other press conferences are there.  I def watched it  on iPhone earlier.  Have you got the App update now?  Mine wouldn't work at all till I did that.

Dan is 23 live rankings now- a win over Medvedev will take him top 20 in rankings and also race. Cam is 15 in the live race.

Tsitsipas has also qualified for Turin Tour Finals.

And Tiafoe took the final set and this is wide open - shame Dan has the toughest player in the lower half next !

Indeed that's not the strongest of remaining halves of a Slam draw!

Certainly could have been a very good opportunity for Rublev to reach his first Slam SF. He will though meantime be up to a CH 5 ( or 6 if Berrettini was to win the title ) as the absent Nadal and Thiem drop the last 2 years' title points.

Now if Dan, by hook or by crook, could get past Medvedev ...
