By the end, Rubin was playing like someone who was just pleased to be on court (after losing in qualies earlier) and he also had to have some treatment for a sore arm so not sure how much that hampered him.
However Andy totally dominant and won the last 10 games of the match to win 6-2, 6-0.
Good performance in the end and goes through to play (contrary to above posts) Frances Tiafoe (13) in round 2. As Indy says just the 10 ranking points for his trouble.
Well missed that, ha, after staying up to see him play Nick, ended up not seeing a new opponent come along. Glad Andy won and handily - lets face it, even his prime , Andy seldom won easily! Its not what he does!- and Tiafoe will no doubt be in that same prime slot in the next round.
Didn't know Pouille's ranking had taken such a hit injury? CD can you help us out here?
I'm not CD but yes Pouille was hit by injury, surgery (right elbow) and a new technique. More happily he got married and had a baby during the last 2 years.

Yes, nothing to add apart from he's been out for 18 months or so, was supposed to only be a minor-ish op, but.....hence big drop in rankings.
