Good result for Liam. I thought he might be in danger of losing the first set when he was pegged back from 4-1 to 4-4 but he gutsed that out, snatched the set and never looked back. Good job and glad he matched the excellent results of our women in qualifying so far!

Also on a non-GB front but perhaps of at least passing interest, Ivo Karlovic won his QR1 match - his next match could be his final one as he is retiring.

Wonder if Jay feels a fleeting regret???

What with ALL the women winning, and Liam too.

That's big points, big money - and the GB camp must be really buzzing there today (might not last long, of course, but for now it must be super-charged).

Jay might be feeling what if.......

Good match this. Both playing well but have to say Trungellitis cross court forehand is the stand out shot.

On another note, is trungelliti the chap that was accused of fixing but was cleared?

No, he was a whistle blower who exposed match fixers and he was not treated well by some because of this. Normally I would want him to win.

Didnt he accuse others , correctly, and get ostracised for it?
