I've just noticed that only ten of the 32 seeds in qualifying managed to get through to the main draw (plus a couple of LLs). I'd have thought more would have managed it. Shows how brutal it is!

Might also show how the rankings are daft at the moment, what with the last two years. And so not really reflective.

Thanks. That's interesting and must be annoying for those who might have missed out as a result!

Thats about normal, just had a look at Wimbledon qualifying 2019 and that was 10 for the men. Interestingly that year it was the higher seeds in the mens that were more succesful and the lower seeds in the womens. In the womens qualifying only 8 made it through and only 1 of the top 16 seeds.

I was going to say the same, quite normal although Ive not checked back. Usually a lot fewer than half the seeds qualify - we have to remember that a lot of the players between say 110 and 250 are clay court practitioners so hard and grass will inevitably create a cull, plus players at that level have less accurate rankings generally , fields are much more even. Given 1 in 8 of the field qualify, 1 in 4 of the seeds qualifying is probably not too bad.
