Millen Hurrion lost the 1st set 3-6 but has just got a break in the 2nd to go 3-1 up, hopefully he can consolidate it.

ETA also his opponents ranking looks slightly under, he took Holger Rune to 3 sets this year and we all know about Rune now.

He did do well against Rune, but it was in the first round, which can be a bit unpredictable.

And it was only one match - he's also lost against a whole range of pretty 'normal' players, in the 300-500 range (and Paulson who's about 700)

He might be slightly under-ranked but not by a lot, I'd say.

Yes, just a few ITFs in 2019 and then again recently.

6 points so far will take him to a total of 9 ranking points and to about live ranked 1075 as against his CH 1225 from February last year.

In the singles, the fourth quarter-final (the one for Millen's opponent) seemingly didn't get played at all yesterday - everything else got finished (I assume the doubles got moved inside? But they didn't want to put the other singles match inside???? Doesn't make sense to me - it's a hard court tournament)

But the net effect would seem to be that Arthur Fils (age 17) is playing Hsu (2nd seed) this morning at 11 and then the winner plays Millen a not before 16.00

Anyone hoping for a nice long match???

Steven (the font of far better knowledge) says they were 1-1 in the third when play got suspended so my cunning plan of a dreadful long, hard match ain't going to work......

So close but Ali couldn't quite see off the precocious 17 year-old:

L16: Alastair Gray WR 1046 LOST to Arthur Fils (FRA) (born 2004) WR 732, JWR 4 3-6 6-4 4-6

Young Arthur has now just put out the 2nd seed, 6-4 in the third.

So it's over to Millen, later today, to put the kid in his place smile

Arthur is the second best ranked 17 year-old in the world.

And the other guy will turn 18 in a few weeks.

So then he'll be the best ranked one

Go, Millen !
