If you look at Andys challengers results they are typically Scottish - struggle against the likes of Luxembourg and Macedonia but put up one heck of a performance against Italy and Germany
Good to see andy string a couple of wins together again. Like others have said elsewhere he's got a fair few points dropping off over the next month so every point counts at the moment.
Just seen that, in 5 weeks rankings projection he is down to nearly 200 with half his points going. At least hes got a full schedule ahead in SD, IW (hopefully) and Antwerp. Maybe others to follow?
Yes, Andy has a lot of 2019 points to come off. He still though has earned 346 points this year including 45 points so far here (and that is showing as his live race points ). So he is guaranteed a minimum of 346 points at year end and hopefully a good few more.
Edit : ah, sorry Jon, I'd been thinking that you were saying Andy's ranking points were due to drop to nearly 200 but I take it you mean his ranking position. Certainly yes in the short term if he doesn't pick up further points, though with nothing further due off after Antwerp it should then get better. His live race position is #116.

Glad to see Andy string some good performances together. Many other players lose interest when they are no longer at the top (Borg comes to mind) but he clearly still loves the sport to keep going through the years of injuries, operations and indifferent results.
For me, winning consecutive days and yesterday being a 3 setter is a stunning, welcome and unexpected joy !
Actually to me not really after that US Open match vs Tsitsipas. It's there even if last week was not so good.
It's there to enjoy and see how it unfolds.
After that match no top player wants to play Andy in the early rounds of a major. I just can't see him getting to latter stages of majors anymore. As you said , enjoy him whilst you can
I disagree with the above comment, Andy again should have really won the first set and that is one that got away for me that one.
Much to be happy about going forward. Small margins but he could easily have beaten Hurkacz twice and Tsitsipas in the past month or so.
but for now "just falling short on top 10" and indeed Hurkacz who is just outside the top 10. It is still very encouraging from Andy so I'll give you I'd definitely say better than OK.
The point is he is playing at a level good enough to compete and win these matches. Hes not done yet, especially now the new breed of players are nowhere near the standard of the old big 3 or 4.
