Liam took the first set in a TB

Always fun to watch Ram - good ol' serve and volley, don't let the ball bounce, sort of tennis.

Well done Liam. I had the match on but was working and got distracted - I'd thought he'd lost, so great news, thank you.

Solid win that. Only caught the 1st set tiebreak. He looked in good shape.

Biel Challenger: In the semi-finals, 5th seed
@Liambroady
will play Swiss teenager & 2020 Roland Garros boys' champion (WC) Dominic Stricker WR 287 (CH 280 in Jul; junior CH 3 in 2020), who upset the no. 2 seed R2 and has just beaten former top 70 player Kamke

That'll be interesting - Stricker was amazing at RG last year - decimated the others - real adult game too - he's really on the way up.

 Will be a challenge but feel in my bones this is Liam's week

That win from Liam pretty much guarantees him a new career high ranking next week. Up to 133 in the live rankings and back into the top 100 in the race.

Ive watched Stricker a couple of times on the streams and he looks very good indeed. I have a feeling he will beat Liam and can see him being direct entry for the French Open senior next year.

Stricker's really ruling the roost in Biel:

SF:  (2) Marc-Andrea Hüsler & Dominic Stricker (SUI/SUI) CR 348 (138+210) defeated Liam Broady & Luke Johnson CR 721 (263+458) by 3 & 3

At least Liam had a chance to see the boy in action from the other side of the net!

Be interesting to see the odds tomorrow, will be closer than the rankings suggest I suspect.

 Yep, currently on bet365 Liam is 11/10 as against 4/6.

 Yes. Liam is on good form. Best I've seen him play, these past few months.

But Stricker is high quality. And rising fast.

Only 2002, like our Felix and Arthur. But real power. And, yes  top 100 soon.

Youngsters are sometimes slightly thrown by quirky opponents. Liam isn't one really, but he does have that lefty thing going on which might help
