Alves (age 20, junior CH 29) got knocked out last week in R1 - but it was against the interloper, Salton, who made the finals.

(Ryan P also beat him a few months ago but he's on a roll - mind you, he also lost to Giles Hussey back in June, 5-7, in the third)

Great to see Ali's run continue.

And frankly, whether it's him or Dan C who made them retire from the doubles yesterday, it's probably a good idea....

Julian and his partner!  For the record:

SF:  (4) Markos Kalovelonis & Michail Pervolarakis (GRE/GRE) CR 806 (422+384) defeated Vasilios Caripi (RSA) & Julian Cash CR 1493 (727+766) by 3-6 6-3 [10-5]  hmm

If Ali is fit, he can win this match. Hes playing 500 level currently and could certainly sustain at that level.

Just loving this run from Alastair.

Great when someone you follow just gets it all together.

Pervolarakis (that's a name you don't want to shorten) doesn't seem to have a very good result sheet either.

Allez, Ali !

He has really had to battle to get into this match. The Greek not offering much for free.
