This may not be a bad strategy for Paul at this stage of his career. It strikes me when you look at the activity pages of some of the players how few competitive games they may actually get to play, even when they're actually doing quite well. With the pandemic and his injury, he's hardly played, so has had little chance to try anything new or even just get match fitness. Looking at Ryan Peniston, he played a couple of M15s earlier this year and it seems to have paid off with a career high for him at 25.
Obviously it still relies on him winning matches but let's hope it pays off for him.
Hmm not sure, why play 2 25k and then drop down. There was a challenger in the US he could've entered and I'm almost certain he's done the same before, entered some 25s then some 15s. Time to up the ante and show a bit of ambition.

There was a challenger on his doorstep in Portugal, though I don't know if that might have meant a surface change.
