Just looking at the ATP Finals Doubles Race, Jamie and Brunos early loss isnt really a big blow, in so much as pretty much everyone else lost to!

Krawiecz and Tecau look like they are securing their place. But Jamie and Bruno look secure in 8th whatever happens this week and it is hard to imagine that Gille and Vliegen or Middelkoop and Arevalo will win this week to close the gap substantially behind Jamie and Bruno

Jamie and Bruno arent in Moscow or Antwerp, presumably playing Vienna and Paris to secure their place if they can. Most of the other pairs are in Moscow or Antwerp so it could tighten up , of course

In the doubles race, I notice that there are crosses by some pairings. What does that mean please?

Hi Helen - it means they cant get enough points to qualify for the finals. Those playing this week had 2 masters series events to play possibly , those missing have just one, Paris. So the crosses reflect if they can get enough points to be in the running still for top 8. They do the same for the singles race as well.

Good to see Polasek into the final. And beating his old partner Dodig who dumped him mid season. If Polasek and Peers win the final over Karetsev and Rublev, they will go 10th in the race. And stand a good chance of making the finals over the next 4 weeks of play. Only thing is, Polasek is 6th also with Dodig. Will he be forced to play with Dodig if they both qualify or will he get to choose his new partner over his ex?!

Interesting one !

Polasek and Peers did take the title. Polasek is now 6th with Dodig and 10th with Peers in the race. I wonder how that will pan out. Can he refuse to play with Dodig and bump his pairing with Peers up to 9th?
