Week 41 - ITF M15 - Antalya, Turkey (clay)

Absolutely super display from Jack Junior.

His forehand was doing really damage.

QF: Jack Pinnington Jones WR 905 def. (3) Mircea-Alexandru Jecan (ROU) WR 574 (CH 450 Feb last year) 6-0 6-1

Wow, didn't expect JPJ to be following Aidan's example from yesterday in going to the local bakery.

SF:  Jack Pinnington Jones WR 905 vs Calin Manda (ROU) WR 877 (CH = 812 in February last year)

The Romanian has just dumpd out the Argentine second seed, Juan Pablo Paz (WR 554/CH = 284 in May 2017), in straight sets (2 & 3).

No videostream (that I can see) this morning.

But young Jack is taking no prisoners, yet again.

6-1

Jack on fire this week. Good wins and with bakery products abounding. Hope he can finish his week off in style.

No, he lost an M15 final in 3 sets in Cairo at the start of May but has had little back-up to that.

A fine Wimbledon QR1 win for 8 points and that ITF final for 6 points gave him 14 of his 16 points coming into this week.

Am I right in thinking we are on target for 6 British titles this week?

Sonay, Jack, Emilie in finals.

Billy, Aidan and Cam in semis?

Jack in is a real dog-fight with a russian lad with the weirdest service action (and all technique really) that you've ever seen.

He looks like a bloke who taught himself to play, bless.

But he's tall, and hits a heavy ball, and was 4-1 up, and then served for the set at 5-4.

And Jack has hung in well, and got it back to 5-5
