Anton and Paul should really be stepping up to challenger level, under ranked and too good at 25k.
Anton played a challenger a few weeks ago, still just outside the ranking required to guarantee entry. Anton seems to play in 2 week blocks aswell, not sure if that's to balance his studies and other interests. I don't want to say he isn't 100% committed to tennis as he is clearly driven but he has said he has other interests. I think at 20 that's fair enough.
Anton had some very good grass court wins this summer but generally in his, as said, fairly limited blocks of tennis in the last couple of years I wouldn't say that there is too much evidence of Anton being underranked and/or too good for 25Ks. Yes on the odd occasion, particularly on grass, he maybe finds a better level but such is true of so many ITF level players.
Paul has produced more in the past but with him too his last couple of years have also not been shouting out challenger level.
Wishing them every success in the future but just saying.
Is Evan going to be a doubles specialist or returning to singles?
I looked on that itf entries site and he had entered singles but withdrew. Maybe after having so many injuries he's decided to stick with doubles for a bit to give his body a chance to aclimatise to the rigours of tennis.
Evan+ both played an excellent tie-break - some great net interceptions, and very dynamic, very positive.
Re Evan and his singles v doubles, he was previously doing OK in singles, but he always lacked footwork at the back of the court, he needed time to wind up his shot, and then would play it, and sort of sit back and watch.
He played two singles events in September, and a couple in July, without any real success. Although that was early days, maybe....
At the net in doubles, he's more light-footed, less preparation needed. And he's got good height and stretch. His good serve also still helps. I've no idea what the state of his back is now, but maybe a focus on doubles makes sense.
