Week 43 - Challenger 80 ($52,080) - Las Vegas, USA (outdoor hard)

Great win, watched the second set seemed to grow in confidence as the match progressed. Great opportunity this week to push on up the rankings. Hes entered for the stretch of challengers here I see and this result could be the start of a push towards the top 300.

Aidans win makes him 358 live ranking according to live tennis.eu , and ahead of Paul Jubb at British number 9. Id like to see Paul playing challengers now, maybe too late for this season but from next he and Aidan should challenge themselves regularly at this level, Id say.

Aidan has Kozlov next. No doubt tough but nothing too lose.

Excellent! He was a break up when I went to bed, so great to see that he came through for a brilliant win!

Great result! Insane to go from losing to someone in the 400s, to getting a LL and beating a top 70 players. I love tennis!

Aidan lost the first set to Kozlov 2-6 but is fighting back in the second, leading 4-1*....

He wins the 2nd set. But Id love to see a bit more of a backhand game. The slice is not penetrating and theres no topspin backhand to speak of. I have to say that kozluv is very poor. But its all to play for now!

Never been a fan of Kozlov's tennis. Even when he was younger, and so much song and dance was being made over him. Partly orchestrated by his dad, I always thought, who really was WAY over the top in how present he was, even when the young man was just practicing. Some of the GB lads who would hit with him seemed bemused and befuddled that dad was just ALWAYS there, and making comments, and so on.

But even his tennis itself left you underwhelmed, rather like Noah Rubin (who I like as a person), and Michael Mmoh, and a lot of others who were supposed to be part of the wunderkids group back then, as juniors and late teenagers etc. I also had Tommy Paul in that group, who has done better than I expected. But Tiafoe and Fritz were picks.

Go, Aidan !

Aidan lost 15-13 in the final set tie break. Missed about 6 match points. Kozluv was a d1ck about it. Enough said.

Echoing previous points about Koslov, his dancing at the end was particularly disrespectful and unpleasant.
